He's Just Too Lazy

I know I wrote "just one more Moonlight Falls entry" at the start of yesterday's entry, but curiosity got the best of me. That being said, I am going to be playing in the Pelagiad game later today and hopefully get screens for another entry in Aerownen's journal. My husband decided he wants to go to Yellowstone next week, and we'll likely be gone for at least two weeks. Better now than closer to summer when the weather is uncomfortably hot and the park is crammed full of tourists.

Unfortunately I probably won't have enough time to get Aeronwen and Neldor married before we go, which is a shame since that would be a nice place to leave off before having to take a break for a couple of weeks (hopefully not three). Hopefully I can at least have Aeronwen write a few more entries before we head out.

Now regarding Moonlight Falls, I took all cache restraints off James and...nothing happened. Granted it's been just one game day but I really thought that Story Progression would immediately start tossing him into beds all over town. That's not what happened...so far.

So at the start of this busy day, Gloria got on her bike and headed for her first class, leaving the farm in the care of her capable werewolf farmhand. Nothing to worry about. Everything will be fine.

Immediately after upgrading a windmill, Cody went into the garden area and got to work. He ran the composter which eliminated the weeds, then started the long process of harvesting all the ripe produce (almost 20,000 worth). He even cleared out all the dead plants once the produce was gathered. When this large task was done Cody was in dire need of a shower, which he took before taking the produce into town and selling it at the grocery store. At this point it was getting into the afternoon. With all of his tasks done, Cody was free to do as he wished, so he headed over to the Toadstool.

Granny Sara was there playing a guitar. As mentioned previously, she's something of a hippy...even more so than Gloria (or I) realized.

Her fascination with her granddaughter's farmhand continues. When she was done playing the guitar she sat down in the rocking chair and began chatting with Cody who was sipping from a drink he just got at the juice bar.

Things seemed pretty normal while Sarah was chatting from a sitting position. It was when she stood up and walked over to Cody that things became...strange.

For the first part of the conversation, I imagined this dialog;

Sarah: "That James is a nice boy. Always has been, but his hormones don't seem to have kicked in yet. That's the only explanation for how oblivious he is."

Cody: *says nothing and just sips his drink*

Sarah: "I'm really proud of my granddaughter. She's barely out of school and has already accomplished a lot. She's got quite a head for business, but she's young. She needs a thrill. Give her one, Cody."

Cody: *snorts on his drink and starts coughing*

Now here is where it got weird. Sarah walked over to Cody and to my dismay appeared to be coming onto him. Cody took a step back and got the "Creeped Out" moodlet. Just as I was wondering what the hell was going on, the game tossed out a message that Sarah's husband William (whom Gloria's little brother is named after) just had a roll in the hay with Haley Sumari the Town Bike. What the...

So I checked their SP settings. I thought I had them locked down, but I didn't. Somehow I forgot, so Sarah and William have been a couple of swingers. William has cheated four times and Sarah has cheated twice. She was working on cheating a third time when she tried to bag Cody.

Sarah...that's your granddaughter's farmhand! Even though they are not involved with each other, sleeping with him is still not a good idea! It would make things terribly awkward!

Gloria and her mother Gwen are not at all happy about Sarah and William's behavior, but what's done is done. Something I did after finding out about William is I changed Haley's settings so that she can't have any more children. She already has three kids, all with different fathers, with the eldest being fathered by the late Pappy Wolfe. I do NOT want her having a baby with Gloria's grandfather.

The now creeped out Cody politely excused himself and decided to leave, much to Sarah's disappointment. Talk about a twist to the Little Red Riding Hood story. The Big Bad Wolf is creeped out and running away from Granny.

Sarah: "What big beautiful glowing eyes you have."

Cody: "Uh...thanks?"

Sarah: "What big...teeth you have."

Cody: *looks at her with a bit of perplexed expression and thinks, I'm not showing my teeth.*

Sarah: *suddenly presses close* "And what a magnificently large tool you must have!"

Cody: *draws away* "Woah, woah! All right, that's enough of that!" *throws some money on the bar to pay for his drink* "I need to get back to the farm and put the receipt for today's produce sale on Gloria's desk." *As he heads for the door, he looks back over his shoulder and asks with some disdain in his voice, "You remember Gloria, don't you?"

Sarah: *sighs* "Well poo...."

Now for what went on at the university. While in map view (12:00 Noon game time), I saw that James was inside one of the university buildings. Oh, was he thinking of enrolling? Maybe he's ready to make something of himself?

No...He was in the break-room. Playing an arcade game. He played that game from at least noon (he might have been there earlier) to 6PM when Gloria finished her last class of the day. Damn it, James, get a job!

James played until he got the Very Hungry moodlet. At that point he went to the snack bar and got a piece of pie. Although Gloria was tired and wanting to go home and relax, she sat down with him and attempted to make conversation. He barely looked at her and only grunted a few responses now and then as he ate his pie.

James, how can you be so different from Neldor? Really, how? You do remember that this is the lady who saved you from being a toad, don't you? She spent every free moment she had pouring over her alchemy book to learn how to make the elixir that would cure you. She did this FOR YOU.

Before long Gloria got tired of being ignored, so she got up and went home. Only her pets were there, but that was all right. It was a full moon that night, which meant Cody had no control over his transformation. Werewolves have a strong instinct to scratch things up. Since the last thing he wants to do is damage his employer's property, Cody makes sure to leave the lot before 6PM. He went down to the beach and took out his need to scratch on the furniture in the clubhouse.

In the wee hours of the morning when Cody was getting tired, he went to the house where he used to live with four other werewolves (one of whom is his brother) and asked if he could sleep in his old room. They said sure, make yourself at home. So that's where he was when I saved and closed out the game. He won't go back to Gloria's lot until the "Feral" moodlet is gone and he is able to return to human form. Since Gloria doesn't have classes on this day and can tend to the garden herself, it's fine if he doesn't get back until late in the morning. She is aware of what Cody is and is very appreciative of him staying away so he doesn't damage anything. And he appreciates that she asks no questions and was willing to give him a great job.

And so ends another episode of...As the Moonlight Falls...
