Discovered Pose Mods

A group of my favorite mods for Oblivion were the posing mods because they allowed me to create screenshot/story illustrations for my character blogs. Although I'm not writing anything about the MorrowSims, I decided to try out some of the Sims 3 Pose mods, especially after I found some horse-related ones:

Love and Horses
Family Horse Riding
Both of which require the base mod: Pose Player

I'll be looking at the other pose mods, but I decided to start with the horse ones. Granted the poses in the Family Horse Riding mod isn't near as great as it would be if Sims 3 children could actually ride, but it's the next best thing.

Mini-rant: Why can't the Sims 3 children ride horses? Many people who ride in real life started when they were children, and very young children at that! If a modder can figure out a way to make children look like they are on a horse, then surely the game developers could have allowed them to truly ride.

Rant over. Now for a few screenshots:

Aeronwen and Gloria (Gloria the horse, that is. Not my human-Aeronwen Sim whose name is also Gloria ;) )

Seated sideways on the horse. I need to try this with Aeronwen wearing a long skirt or her western dress.

Neldor and Aeronwen on Garland. I had to use the Master Controller to put together a western outfit without a hat for Aeronwen because her hat and Neldor's were clipping.

Side note: Although I really liked the Aeronwen/Voryn pairing while it was going on, I don't think they were ever this cute. At times it still baffles me that Neldor developed into a character that I preferred for Aeronwen to be with rather than Voryn.

I haven't tried any of the Family Riding poses yet because none of the households who have horses have had children yet (I've been pushing Darkfell and Acacia into Risky Woohoo for the past few game nights.)

After seeing how the pose mods work and all the scenes I can create, I find myself tempted to start doing some writing about the antics of Sims3-Town from a character perspective, especially since I am no longer using [personal profile] aeronwen or [personal profile] lavender_rose for Morrowind and Oblivion. It would have to be written in journal style rather than biography style since I (and Aeronwen) have no idea of what sort of craziness would happen day by day.

This is something to mull over anyway. I wouldn't start the game over if I decide to write it. The game is in the last week of the summer season so it would be easy to say that Aeronwen just bought the new journal at the bookstore and fills her first entry of what the current summer season has been like. And...I think I would say that the location is the Ascadian Isles we all know and love but Neloth and Gilvoth managed to stink up the other regions which is why those of House Telvanni and House Redoran have homes there. The Imperials have been pushed out, the fort has been torn down and that allowed the citizens to expand and improve the town of Pelagiad. So this is where they all live while waiting for the Big Stink to clear out of the other regions.

Sure, the land isn't exactly like Morrowind's Vvardenfell, but the same can be said about ESO's Vvardenfell. It doesn't match TES III's either. So if ESO can get away with an altered Ascadian Isles region, so can I.

Now the news:

"If someone is capable of lending a helping hand to the downtrodden in this town, I believe he has the moral obligation to do so," smiled Vemyn Dagoth. "Don't you agree? That's why I purchased Yanna Swift Leaf's home at 60 Abbey Alley...to help the less fortunate among us with their bills."

(If the house were owned by anyone else I would feel bad for them, but since this is Yanna's place, I say she's got this coming to her. Thank Y'ffre that Sifina invited Constance to come and live with her.)

"Is that the best the Bosmer could stand up against Adusa? Tanor the Sleaze was a helpless little mouse compared to Adusa's strength!" grinned Adusa after sending Tanor packing with a number of new bruises and scrapes. "How sad. Where is the adversary who is worth Adusa's attention?"

(How could Adusa stand putting her paws on that little sleaze?)

"Yeah, so I told Engaer that for 85 septims I would give him some tips on how to look better," remarked Sophelia LaChance. "He totally handed over the money and I told him to get a face transplant. Easiest money I ever made."

(That...sounds like Sophelia.)

"Come to me!" commanded Verandis Ravenwatch, and with that so did Merriweather Golden move. Witnesses report that it was almost as if Merriweather were drawn to the Dracul by a giant invisible lasso. Both parties survived the encounter, and Merriweather was none the worse for wear.

(Merriweather should be glad that Verandis is a decent mer, especially as far as vampires go.)

Ra'Virr and Ahnassi have been telling everyone about their brand new home. They have moved into the Fairmont.

(Since they have left the house that they're sharing with Skink in Tree's Shade and Traveling New Woman, I wonder if this means that Ra'Virr and Ahnassi will be tying the knot. And I wonder if that means that they'll be having a little cub or two.)

The Slayer's job may be a lonely one most of the time, but it doesn't always have to be. Local vampire Fennorian Ravenwatch has shown that love can arise from the most unlikely places, as long as Vallisara of Shimmerene is up for the challenge.

(Uh...ok. I want to see how this plays out, so I'll leave them alone. There are far worse vampires that Vallisara could get tangled with.)

"You are feeling sleepy...so sleepy...," spoke Verandis Ravenwatch, slowly lulling the would-be vampire hunter, Basnik Oak Tender into a hypnotic trace. After that, the Nosferatu had no problem pummeling the defenseless Bosmer to within an inch of his life. Thankfully the vampire got bored of the event and chose to leave and find more exciting sport.

(Poor Basnik. I really doubt that he deserved that.)

Report cards are in and Vildafire is apparently doing very well! After a little tutoring from a local nerd by the name of Ashara Dagoth, Vildafire's grades have improved.

(Well done, both of you.)

Gilvoth Dagoth was aghast to come home and find that his Tabla Del Extremo had been messed up badly by who he suspects was none other than Engaer. "That Bosmer has had it out for me ever since he hooked up with that tart of his!"

(Gilvoth, you and Endus don't have to take this. Start bouncing these annoyances off the nearest walls!)

"I messed up that Harvest still life big-time," recounted Godonir Black Claw to his gang. "Oh yeah, Skink in Tree's Shade was totally oblivious!"

(So now Godonir is destroying works of art? Just how low is this mer going to sink?)

Basnik Oak Tender wasn't feeling very well after sustaining some injuries during a recent fight and has decided to head over to the hospital for a checkup.

(Uh oh. Clever Prank has a gig at Fiddler's Green the following day. Hopefully Basnik will be well enough to perform. If not, they may have to ask either Darkfell, Aryon, or Aryc (all of whom have recently learned to play the bass) to stand in.)

Edited to add: I just realized that Aeronwen could write her journal with her Dwemer styled laptop. LOL She has one on the desk in her painting room.

I guess they never bothered to scale the children to the horses. I've come across some mods that corrects the scaling of children to do some of the things that mods allow children to do more. I don't remember if riding horses was among them.

Yep, some people learn to ride horses very early. The Mongols, for one. I remember an old Dracula comic where Drac tells some poor mortal fool that he had learned how to ride before learning to walk. I see Aryc and Amaryllis like that, considering their background of minor but very old nobility. They would certainly have their twins riding very early.

The screenies are great. Aeronwen and Neldor seem to be made for each other.

Those pictures of Aeronwen and Neldor riding together are so sweet that every single one of my teeth just rotted, and I'll be invoicing you for my dentist bill. :P
