Some Unfortunate Glitches
There have been some glitches found with the long awaited Child can ride horse (No Stretch) mod. None seem to be game breaking, but until/unless these bigs can be fixed, players will have to decide which they want more; children able to ride horses and be able to do so without being turned into a strange stretched out monster, or have things like the playing tag, skating and the werewolf animations working correctly.
The bugs that have been reported so far;
bug report: I believe I've discovered a couple of bugs with this mod, one is when child sims play tag, instead of running around they walk. and another is when a sim scuba dives, instead of swimming around in the dive spot, they just walk across the ocean floor.
I noticed that my sims were just walking on the roller rink, so I removed my overrides and script mods one by one, and have found that this mod was causing this glitch.
And when adults and children skate, they sink in the ice and walk.
So happy this is now a thing! One small glitch I have noticed is that my transformed werewolves don't run when I have this installed. Doesn't matter if I tell them to run, they just walk everywhere and use the normal sims animation instead of the werewolf ones.
I haven't had my sims go skating, scuba-diving or playing tag, but I did see what the mod did to my werewolves; they now move around with an ordinary upright walking animation. Even though I have them wear this Werewolf Outfit when transformed, the lack of werewolf animations makes it seem like they are just regular people walking around in a big furry suit.
I can live with the other glitches, but the werewolf animations not working is problematic for me since werewolves feature heavily in both of my games/stories. Until/unless this can be fixed I'll just have to deal with removing the child riding mod and then putting it back depending on what I want to do during each game session and what screenshots I need to take for the story blogs. At the moment I don't have the mod installed because right now none of my horse-owning households in my Elder Scrolls themed game have children. And in my Wickery Glen game my main family has children, but does not yet own horses.
At least with Sims 3 one can usually take mods in and out of the game folder without having any issues. If I were to try this with an actual Elder Scrolls game it wouldn't be long before my saves would explode.
In the meantime, while the child on horse mod is not yet needed in my games, I've installed this one; Toddlers can Ride Rocking Rider. My word, why is a mod needed for that? A toddler not being able to ride a little rocking horse is as stupid as children having to wait until they're teenagers before they can learn to ride a real horse.
Gloria hasn't been born yet but her older brother William was happy to test the mod for me and he agrees that he should have been able to ride this little rocking horse all along.

I'm glad the Toddlers on Rocking Horses mod doesn't seem to have any issues. When the Elder Scrolls children come along, they'll be riding these little horses before they their parents place them on the backs of real horses.
