More Kitten News and the Queen Mother's Latest...uh...Suitor
Kitten Maggie continues to settle in a Rosewood. I'll likely change her name if I can think of another Christmas/Winter themed name. Not only has she made friends with Holly and Ivy, she is also liked very much by Caspar the Samoyed. It's adorable to see this big white dog playing with the tiny kitten.
Tinsel the afghan hound has only sniffed Maggie and then gone back to what he was doing, but he has the Independent trait so he's much more aloof than the other household pets who all have the Friendly trait. At the start of the game it took a lot longer for Neldor and Aeronwen to reach the level of Friend with Tinsel than it took with Holly, Ivy, and Caspar. Even the horses became Friends with the rest of the household before anyone reached that level with Tinsel. The afghan has positive responses to interactions, it just seems like not much progress is gained with each interaction. It's not like with Caspar where they reached Friend and Best Friend levels the first time Aeronwen and Neldor interacted with him.
Rosewood isn't the only household to gain a kitten. RiData and Rabinna must like having furbabies because now they have a kitten as well as a puppy. With the additional pet their starter house was getting a little tight. If they have a cub or two (and I think everyone except the Grouches hope they will have cubs) the household traffic would really become congested. So I decided to help them out and moved them to a cottage that's not far from where Sifina lives and is a stone's throw from one of the beaches.
It's not a huge place, but the rooms are larger so there aren't really any pathing issues. It's also built right on the ground rather than on a deck so their pair of tiny furballs can easily go in and out of the cottage.
They all seemed delighted with the new place. The puppy and kitten (Ginger and Duchess) started playing together in the yard while RiData and Rabinna sat down on the sofa to watch a program on their new wide-screen Dwemer-made TV.
Before giving the bit of news (it was a light news day apparently), I want to warn former princesses Aeronwen and Acacia that their grandmother Barenziah has been keeping company with yet another suitor: Grandpa le Hex. Or rather the ghost of Grandpa le Hex. After seeing a show at the theater the pair came by the Rose Garden Bakery where they enjoyed some cake and tea out on the veranda.
Saje was seated at a nearby table and I got the feeling that he didn't want to be noticed.
"I feel an obligation to keep Alandis out of harm's way. At least if she is nearby, that becomes a little easier to do," remarked Vallisara of Shimmerene, speaking of her latest recruit in the fight against evil.
(*side eyes Vallisara who is the leader of the Slayer factions** Somehow I think Alandis might know a little more about dealing with danger than Vallisara does. Once again I think the run-away Altmer is getting in over her head.)
Erandre Dence found himself seeking a little vengeance on the hate that the Harpies have been dumping on him by acting out against a living room chair by Yang3D at Erandre's home. "Stop telling everyone I smell! You are making me feel like a freak!"
(So Erandre decided to get back at the Harpies Morgana, Sophelia, and Yanna by beating up on his own chair. Well...they don't call him nutty for nothing.)
"Some sims are simply ungrateful," commented local Magnate Barenziah. "Our society does plenty to help the lower class, some public, some private. Mers like Master Aryon may want to consider that the next time they berate our efforts."
(I'm sure Neloth would disagree with me, but Master Aryon typically knows what he's talking about, and if he has issues with Barenziah's donations, I'm sure he has a good reason.)

Aww, kitty!
I put one of those tea tables into the house where Saje and Sophelia are living. They immediately went over to it, looked at it and did not like it at all. Sophelia had one of those ranting fits when a SIM really doesn't like something. Saje just walked away.
That was really strange.
Do you think RiData and Rabinna can really have little kitten Khajiits? I mean, is there a model for a baby Khajiit? That would be absolutely adorable. Yeah, Neloth and Gilvoth would think a Khajiit baby to be horrible, those old dried up prunes!

Yep. If you look through the screens on Skyrim Inspired Khajiits there are examples for babies, toddlers, children and teens as well as adults. Now that RiData and Rabinna are in a more roomy house I'm going to give them a little "Try for Baby" push. :)
I'm also in the process of trying to find or build a new cottage for Sarasvati and Thorinor. I like the house I gave them but I don't want them to have the kitten problem again and I can absolutely see them wanting to give Juniper a kitten once she grows out of the toddler stage. So I'll need to give them a deck-less home like the kind I made for Neldor and Aeronwen. The deck/kitten issue was something I never thought of when I was setting up the houses.
Acacia and Darkfell already have a house without a deck so this won't be an issue for them if they end up wanting to adopt kittens.

I really love that idea. While I'm sure we'll all miss the "Mooooooon sugarrrrrr", character development is nice and keeps things interesting.
This is the mod I used for the bakery: Cafe & Bakery Sweet Cupcakes.
That bakery is a great way for the active household to make money, especially if one uses the NRaas Cupcake mod to autostock the cases. The money rolls in all day long.

It seems anything you do for money, it really comes in once you get good at it. My sims don't even bother with getting jobs.

I was just looking at this place for the Jackle-Thorns: Enchanted Pxie Cottage
It reminds me a bit of the cottage I made for Aeronwen and Neldor. I'd likely change the trees around the property for a leafy kind and I would need to figure out a way to add an additional bedroom for when their son comes along, but it really has a lot of potential. And it looks like it's built directly onto the ground.

Edited again to add: Oh gosh I'm looking at the place in game and to say it's perfect is a huge understatement. The creator even added a jack-a-lope cut-out decoration to the yard next to the pond. How fitting is that for Thorinor and Sarasvati's house?
I'm placing it on a 64 x 64 lot and adding a matching barn. The barn will be big enough for three stalls since I'm thinking of letting their buckskin horses have a foal.
