Err...I mean memory crystals. Small, thin, rectangular memory crystals that they use to capture images of the people they are spying on. Uh, I mean getting news stories about.

It was actually a slow news day, which is good since I needed to figure out what little tricks I needed to pull with the Master Controller to get characters from different households to use poses together.

This entry contains some completely unrelated subjects in my Elder Scrolls themed Sims game. LOL First I made some more changes to the Rose Garden Bakery. Since none of the townies were using the outdoor tables I decided to get ride of them and replaced them with the Old Miller Tea Time Set which is a beautiful round table set up with a gorgeous tea set. Sims can interact with it by sitting together and of course drinking tea.

Some large umbrella's decorated with rose themed patterns were placed next to each table. I also added an elegant fence and a gate around the tables because Merriweather Golden's horrible white toy poodle came by and tried to chew up the furniture. Thank Azura and Y'ffre for the NRaas Cupcake mod. It's now set up to automatically restock the shelves at the bakery every morning at 5AM, which is good because Aeronwen simply couldn't bake things fast enough to keep the shelves full. Especially not with certain townies coming in and buying the cakes, pies, cookies, and cobbler the moment they were put on the shelves.

Although the tax bill for Rosewood is already rather high, I did a little more decorating, adding more ivy to both the interior as well as exterior walls and placed these lovely rose decorations around some of the windows. Then I made some changes to the bed textures and the end result is a Master Bedroom that looks a lot more like the bedrooms in the Rose Cottage and the Millstone Cottage.

Former king (at least in this universe) Hlaalu Helseth has been keeping a low profile since he and his mother ended up in Dragon Valley, but yesterday he was seen at the dog park of all places. There was a "Dog Social Hour" going on so Aeronwen and Neldor decided to go there with Tinsel and Caspar. I didn't even realize Helseth was there until I realized that he was the one Neldor was playing chess with within the dogwood shed.

The town unicorn showed up at Rosewood this evening along with the wild zebra herd. Aeronwen happened to be outside at the time and interacted enough with the unicorn that she made friends with it. Then it did something that it didn't do in the previous game. It placed the "Unicorn Blessing" on Aeronwen. She floated in the air for a few seconds like a fairy. When she came down she was sparkling and continued to sparkle for the next eight hours.

Playing the Sims has spawned a lot of plot bunnies, but some of them work so well, even for the regular roleplay, that they are almost eerie. With the way Yanna behaves, becoming even more erratic, I often think about Constance and how awful it is for her to be stuck with living with such a vain, self-centered person. Unfortunately Aeronwen and Neldor don't have enough space to take her in.

Then when I happened to make Sifina the active household to add an alchemy area in her home, I happened to look at her work relationship panel and saw that Yanna is one of Sifina's clients. So Sifina is well aware of everything Yanna has been doing and she knows that there is an unfortunate teenage girl living with Yanna who is not getting the care and attention she needs and deserves.

I gave Yanna a fairly nice sized cabin in the wilderness where her cats and zebra have plenty of room to move around and play. She's located a bit south of the smaller sized fishing hole (the name escapes me at the moment). The cabin has a spare bedroom and there is more than enough space there for two people to live comfortably. Cut for screenshot: ( Read more... )

During times when I have my active family occupied with something (so I can be sure they don't wander off and do things I don't want them to do), I think I will switch to Sifina's household long enough to have her become friends with Constance and take her in, informally adopting her. In fact, I like this idea so much that I'm even thinking of having this happen in the main roleplay. I would just have to figure out a way to have her obtain a larger home somewhere along Azura's Coast, near the Pegasus Estate since the tiny cottage she has now could never work for two people.

So, no reports from Nerst in this entry. I just wanted to write this and record what I think is a great keeper plot bunny.

The married couples in Dragon Valley seem to be going on with quiet lives, but there are certainly growing hostilities developing among the outer circle of characters. Darkfell and Anaril are going to have to work around the clock to keep the conflicting factions from tearing the place apart. No wonder Anail likes to spend his evenings off taking quiet walks with his big lovable dog. ( Read more... )
