It's an elongated octagon so it doesn't feel so boxy.
I've been thinking of doing that after taking a look at some tower houses that modders have made. That shape should make the Grouch House look even less like an Imperial building.
I'm thinking of giving the grouches a set of Twizys since they're sure to rack up even more speeding tickets with those.
