So far so good. Even with a fairly large portion of the population being changed into Supernaturals, the town has been stable and running smoothly. I'm inclined to agree with the player who posted on one of the Sim forums that Dragon Valley seems to run better than the other worlds for some mysterious reason. Anyway, here are some screens from the first couple of game days and a good bit of news from Nerst.
I did some more work on the Rosewood basement, creating an alchemy room for Aeronwen. As she went over to the alchemy station and began to study, I got the impression that she was saying to me, "It's about time that you remembered that I'm an alchemist."
Once the twins arrive and start moving around, she'll adjust the lock setting on the door to make sure that the children can't come in and get into potentially poisonous ingredients.

With the current town setup I also made sure that other characters have work stations that suited their interests/jobs. For example, I gave Endus a bot creation station and made sure that Nalcarya has an alchemy station in her home. Now they can actually do the jobs that they have been assigned
Sifina was also given an alchemy station since the alchemy skill is needed for the Fortune Teller profession which I assigned her to. Fortune Teller is as close as one can get to "Spinner Sessions" in this game. For her place of employment, I added the Fortune Tellers Wanted lot. The reason Garland is in the screenshot is because Neldor had a wish to have his fortune told, so he went for a session with the neighborhood Spinner.

One of the things I noticed about Sifina is that even though her race has been changed from ordinary "Human" to "Witch", I have yet to see her go anywhere on a broom. When she travels she chooses to ride around town on her zebra. This really matches the personality of a Valenwood Bosmer.

Interestingly, the Telvanni and Dagoth characters who have been changed into witches like to travel by broom, none so more than Neloth. The one time he doesn't look grouchy is when he's zipping around town on his new ride.

This is how he looks after receiving a speeding ticket from Darkfell or Anaril (hey they are just trying to enforce the law in order to keep everyone safe).

Since there was still a good bit of space near the Equestrian Center and festival grounds, I added another large lot and filled it with items from the Duke of Bows and the Wonderland lots, creating a park that the town residents seem to like. Recently I saw Larena practicing her archery at the Archer's Gauntlet while Neloth was riding the carousel with Barenziah. Those two have been spending a good bit of time together lately. No doubt Aeronwen and Acacia hope Neloth doesn't become their step-grandpa. That would just be weird.

Now for Nerst's nightly report.
"You need to spend money to make money," noted Verandis Ravenwatch. "And I think an investment in the Myth, Legend, and Lore Facility is in the best interests of myself and the community as a whole."
(Verandis is a decent sort even if he is a vampire. I'm not concerned about this.)
"I felt that a new investment would benefit everyone, and provide some affordable housing for my neighbors." Welcome Vemyn Dagoth, the newest owner of Master Neloth's manor on 5 Mithrilen Road.
(Ehh...maybe I should start loosening some of the town's NRaas Story Progression settings to allow certain households to move to a new home if they so choose. I doubt Neloth wants Vemyn as his landlord.)
"Take that, you hell spawn! Give back that body to its rightful owner!" crowed Anaril Sunhold as he sunk the serum imbued stake into an obviously upset vampire named Fennorian. "If you survive the change, you'll thank me in the morning!"
(No wait, Anaril! Not Fennorian! Yes, he's a vampire, but he's also a loveable dork.)
***I checked on Fennorian and saw that he had been changed into a normal Altmer. That won't do, so I took him into CAS and turned him back into a vampire. At that point I adjusted the town settings so that there will not be any more Supernatural race changes since I don't want the vampires and werewolves cured. Nor do I want any of the other sims changed into vampires and werewolves, although it's easy enough for them to go to the Lore and Science center to be cured.)
Yanna Swift Leaf's fingers were a little too sticky since they were unable to release the She Sparkles even when Sifina Ivy Vale asked her to put it back down. "You've already been caught! Just put it down and leave! Now!"
(Don't let Sifina's normally calm and soft spoken demeanor fool you, Yanna. That Spinner could indeed mess you up if she wanted to.)
The Hound and the Lestat have similar outlooks on life, though our interpretation of the Builder's plan is a little different," commented Caslandra Moon Fang. "Verandis Ravenwatch seems to believe that it's a spiritual journey, or some tripe like that, but I say just get to the humping!"
(Uh, okay)
Tureynul Dagoth has reeled in a new member to his private kingdom with the recent conquest of Usanda Moon Leaf. My my, some mers get all the luck.
(A Heartwight and a werewolf. Sounds violent. Oh well, it's their own business.)
"Do you have what it takes to work in this business? It is pretty rough tand tumble, and you will need to think on your feet. But I see it in you, Godonir Black Claw, that something necessary to compete and succeed." The Kingpin has a brand new "employee".
(I'm sure having a wily werewolf henchmen is a dream come true for Vemyn the Kingpin.)
"It makes us feel proud that we can help out the little fellows like Master Neloth who are unable to look after their families," smiled Barenziah after sending Neloth a cheque for $11,910 to the debt-ridden Telvanni home.
(Odros is of the opinion that Neloth went into the gigolo business and Barenziah was paying the fee. If so, that's far more than Crassius Curio charges his clients.)
Fearing for his safety, Basnik Oak-Tender did the only sensible thing and threw $937 in the face of his assailant Usanda Moon Leaf. The Feral was noted to have sniffed the cash for a second, picked it up in her mouth, and finally swatted Basnik for good measure before vanishing into the woods.
(Okay, Usanda, word of warning; picking on law abiding citizens like Basnik is going to quickly get you into trouble. Darkfell and Anaril are on the job. Just ask Neloth.)
Thorinor Jackle-Thorn has been trading his life-plasma for some handy-dandy cash, which Verandis Ravenwatch was more than happy to supply. "188 is nothing compared to what Thorinor is generously providing me. Wonderfully fresh plasma!"
(I'll let Neldor take this commentary.
Neldor: "What's the matter with you?! You can't possibly need money that badly!")
"My, what big teeth she had! What big claws she had!" That was all the police were able to garner from Eldafire's incoherent babble after responding to a disturbance at her household. Upon a search of the residence, it was noted that the only serious damage was to a wicker chair.
(While my active household was sleeping I switched to Eldafire's household and saw that one of her patio chairs had indeed been ripped apart. I bought her a new one, used NRaas to give the money back to her, then went to the Black Claw household and deducted the amount of the chair from that household funds. This either taught those destructive werewolves a lesson or it just confused everyone and has the town residents wondering what in the name of Azura just happened.)
"If Adusa had more time she would have drained Skink in Tree's Shade dry, but alas, Adusa had an important appointment to attend to," noted Adusa daro. Skink is most likely quite happy that the vampire is so busy. It probably saved his life.
(I saw Adusa and Skink up on the hill behind Aeronwen and Neldor's farm and wondered what they were doing up there. Apparently they were out for a midnight picnic.)
Curious onlookers were simply unable to pry their eyes off of Yanna Swift Leaf and the poor dumb sap on her arm. Engaer appeared to be drooling, and when asked what they were planning on doing that day; "Whatever my dearest wants. I just can't say no to her."
(Engaer, I STRONGLY suggest that you schedule an appointment with the local Spinner and have her show you what has happened with alternative Stories that involved Yanna and yourself. I'm sure you'll see that things don't go well. Granted you're both sterilized at the moment, but you still might want to be fully informed.)
Nalcarya of White Haven has been keeping her sights out for the local casanova Tureynul Dagoth, hoping that maybe he has his sights set on her.
(Since Nalcarya seems to enjoy her flings I'm not going to interfere. Just be aware that one of Tureynul's other flings is a werewolf, and that werewolf might not want to share.)
Local Harpy Morgana le Hex was seen picking apart what she considered to be a horrible ensemble of clothing that Sifina Ivy Vale was sporting. Sifina was quite distressed after the experience and was left sobbing on the street corner as Morgana walked away.
(I don't believe this for one second. Sifina doesn't give a flying dead leaf about what Morgana thinks. It would take far more than Morgana's opinions to make the Spinner of Dragon Valley cry.)
A recent bout of arson has town officials baffled. A Dual Candle Shell Sconce at Master Aryon's residence was set on fire and left to burn, obviously as some sort of warning. Though there has been no official response, the Helsing organization (run by Anaril and Darkfell) is denying any knowledge of any actions of that nature in this town.
(Neloth probably had something to do with this, which means that Ashara, the Town Nerd, will start rigging household items to blow up in Neloth's face.)
And all of this was just the first two days. Good thing I added a popcorn machine to the Duke of Bows park. ;)

Date: 2024-06-22 12:38 pm (UTC)From:I was wondering when Aeronwen would discover alchemy. A couple of those potions are really useful, like the ones that give you more energy and happiness.
Why is Thorinor selling his plasma, lol?
Hmm, maybe Ashara will have a word or two with Morgana after treating Sifina like that. Or, Morgana's possessions will start mysteriously exploding.

Date: 2024-06-22 04:36 pm (UTC)From:Gilvoth was also changed to the witch race but so far I haven't seen him buzzing around anywhere. Actually I haven't seen him at all, so he must be laying low for some reason.
One of the reasons I didn't have Aeronwen doing alchemy was the lack of space. That alchemy station is impressive but it doesn't fit just anywhere. The funny thing was that I didn't have to tell Aeronwen to start studying. She bee-lined to the thing the moment the game went back into Live Mode.
Why is Thorinor selling his plasma, lol?
Good question. I kept imagining Neldor practically shaking him and demanding sharply, "Thorinor? What the hell?!" He insisted to Aeronwen that they plant a row of plasma fruit in their garden. If the Ravenwatch vampires need plasma, they can feed on those.
Hmm, maybe Ashara will have a word or two with Morgana after treating Sifina like that. Or, Morgana's possessions will start mysteriously exploding.
That would really be funny. I see in their relationship panels that at some point Ashara and Sifina did meet and become good friends so the "Town Nerd" going after Morgana would be perfect.

Date: 2024-06-22 05:03 pm (UTC)From:You might want to edit out the two jelly bean trees from the front. Sims don't stop eating jelly beans and some, I hear, are trouble. It's a nifty little store otherwise.
Sarasvati: *to Thorinor* "Why are you selling your plasma, sweetie? I know you are a fine virile specimen, but I don't want those bats flitting aound you."
Ashara: "I'll make sure all of that skooma gear with blow up in her face!"
