After weeks of thoroughly testing Wickery Glen (and admittedly neglecting my Elder Scrolls themed game/fanfic) I feel I'm ready to to reincarnate Gloria and her community in this very much improved remake of Moonlight Falls. Yes, that means I'll restart the story I had begun in the [personal profile] glorawen which I feel a bit sheepish about, but someone with the surname "Winters" belongs in a place surrounded by snow covered mountains rather than on an island with sandy beaches and palm trees.

Before reaching the conclusion of my testing game with my salvaged households, I decided to try out the World Adventures part of the game. I've been actively playing Sims 3 for over a year yet I have never tried the travel options, so Gloria and Cody when to China and I had them explore some tombs. Yes, this was fun. I kept thinking I should have Aeronwen and Neldor do this but it's difficult to do from a story standpoint. Sure, time in their homeworld stands still while their away (which is game mechanics) but from a story standpoint it's difficult to explain why they would go to another part of Tamriel and let their crops fill up with weeds while fruits and vegetables go unharvested. Heck, it's difficult to explain why they would go to other provinces at all since they are such homebodies and care more about farming than searching for ancient artifacts.

Anyway, back to my Elder Scrolls characters' human counterparts. As Cody and Gloria worked their way through the dungeons I was once again struck by how much chemistry there is between these characters. If James is to have any hope of being with Gloria in their next lifetime, he is REALLY going to need to straighten up and stop being such a lazy bum.

I mean, just look at these two; the Werewolf and the Loner Artist. Somehow the pairing works.

Ah, one more thing; a difference between the game I'm about to start and the previous one that I had to stop when Moonlight Falls bugged out; I decided to give Gloria and each of the characters in her age group two older siblings. Not only do I like the idea of Gloria being the youngest of her siblings, but I realized that without older siblings there would be no children in town at all at the start of the game. Not one. It's one thing to start a community in a new small town on an island, but when the town is on the mainland it seems more than a little strange that there are no children. Especially when there is a perfectly good school in town.

So this weekend I'll start the new game. James, I realize that for a while you will once again be a tiny infant who can't really do anything, but once you grow up, try to make more of an effort. Be more attentive or you'll once again loose your best friend to the hot loner werewolf when it's time for him to move into the town.

I wouldn't be surprised if James turns out lousy again, considering the bed hopping these sims do.

As much as I like this game, it bugs me that there is no Faithful trait yet there are traits like Flirty and Commitment Issues.

Good point. There should be a faithful trait, a real choice to have family and old fashioned ideals. I wouldn't have my sims marry of the town folk. Except maybe Neloth, just to see what would happen.

Yeah, my characters would not be bed hoppers. Neloth might a little, but he wouldn't go out of his way, or make a habit of it.

This game is set up for drama and soap opera scenarios.

Definitely that would be entertaining. As you say, a Faithful trait would make things far more easier and not so many sims bedhopping.
