Over the past week I set up some additional sets for upcoming installments for the
aeronwen story blog. After much deliberation I decided to have the side quests that take place in the city of Vivec play out in the town of Ebonheart. As mentioned before, I'm not even going to attempt to build Vivec. While I have an excellent gaming computer, I think such a city would really bog down whatever world I placed Vivec in.
That being said, there are some, shall I say garishly colored palace and castle mods out there that I considered using to represent the city of Vivec, but the fact is that Aeronwen doesn't go to those big settlements very often, and since I have already done some lore bending and breaking to deal with the issue of Vvardenfell's wildlife, I figured I may as well simplify things by changing the location of some of Morrowind's quests.
Now for the screenshots:
Here is the town of Ebonheart which I placed on top of the flat foothills that go around the edges of the Dragon Valley world. Like the Ebonheart in the Morrowind game, this town is near the sea. Since some Vivec quests will take place here, I have added a home for Crassius Curio as well as a theater rabbit hole building. Not far away, but not visible in the screenshot I have added a business and journalism building as well as the Mystery & Magick Medieval Science Center.
The castle itself is the Medieval Village mod.

Incidentally, I like the way this town is slowly being built up. In fact I'm starting to like this town more than the one I made for the "Big Stink" time period. I guess it makes a big difference to slowly add buildings and sims when the story calls for them rather than adding everything and everyone to the world at once. Considering the lore of these settlements, it does make more sense for places like the science and business rabbit holes as well as the theater to be near Ebonheart rather than set up in a tiny village like Pelagiad.
The other set is in the world of Great Bear with cheats turned on to change the season to winter; the village of Lokken for when my characters are ready to take on White Wolf of Lokken Mountain story (and I do have a White Wolf who is ready and willing to play the part of the story's title character.

While I'm itching to have my characters go to the beautiful and snow covered Lokken island, I'm going to hold off a bit more, both to simulate them saving up money for the trip and to give me more time to decide if any other characters go to Lokken with them (or show up later since both Aeronwen and Neldor have siblings who come to Vvardenfell and would be seeking to track them down).
And so the Simshots Project continues. Truthfully I didn't think I'd get this far with it, but now this is the most fun I've had setting up fanfic screenshots in I don't know how long.
