crown_of_antlers: Glorawenn's horse (Gold Steed)
I did a little more tinkering with Moonlight Falls to make it look less modern, at least as far as the buildings are concerned. The town was rebuilt using buildings I either took from Dragon Valley Redux or found on Mod the Sims. Those that were not already set up as rabbit holes had rabbit hole rugs added to them. The billboards and most of the road signs have been removed. I say most because every time I think I've removed them all I come across another one. After the community lots were changed I removed all of the modern looking houses. Some of the town residents were temporarily moved to the clipboard while their houses were changed. Sorry, but those large, flat-roofed houses stuck out like sore thumbs and didn't look right in the environment.

Now some screenies:

The town hall which uses a rabbit hole rug to function like a working town hall.

The school.

The bookstore and grocer.

While Gloria has the "blue farm", Allison Flowers lives in this pinkish purple place. Perhaps in this world I'll have Gloria make more of an effort to make friends with Allison. I changed a couple of Allison's traits so she will hopefully be less annoying. In the modern day Appaloosa Plains game, Gloria once got a writing opportunity to write Allison's biography. It took all of her willpower not to title it; "Allison Flowers; a Bloomin' Idiot in Full Bloom".

While riding over to the Flower's residence, Gloria passed Robin's home and had to take a screenshot of him...just because.

The vanilla residents are still wearing their modern clothing, but I'll change them as I come across each sim, dressing them in Victorian/Edwardian attire. The more eccentric personalities will be dressed in "Victorian Steampunk" fashions.

After getting the screens I had Gloria ride around just admiring the scenery; the waterfalls, the rivers, and of course the snow covered mountains.

I haven't downloaded the CAW yet, but I really should. Changing the road textures would go a long way toward making Moonlight Falls look like an era from the past. For now I have multiple copies of the changed town in other folders. One still has the vanilla townies, while another copy has all of the townies removed in case I want to build another Elder Scrolls themed town. Moonlight Falls doesn't look like any area of Vvardenfell, but I believe it could pass as a northwestern part of Morrowind's mainland that is close enough to Skyrim to get snow.

The screens don't convey just how pretty this place is. Moonlight Falls is my favorite of the Sims 3 worlds and even though the roads bug me I shouldn't let that stop me from bringing my characters into this beautiful environment.
