It's been a while since I've done a LOTRO outfit post, but I was so pleased with the way my character's current outfit matched her war steed's new gear that I felt motivated to put one together.

The 2018 Harvest Festival gave us the Harbinger war steed gear, which includes a head piece, but the LOTRO war steeds have such pretty heads and manes that I usually leave my steed's head uncovered. The "saddle pad" piece, which can be dyed, works very well with the Dunlending Jacket, which can be obtained as a quest reward or bartered for in the Dunlend zone.

In these screens, Glorawenn's and her steed's gear is dyed sea blue. The combination also looks nice in Forest Green.

As those who play LOTRO know, peacock and peahen cosmetic pets were added to the game for this year's summer festival. During the festival, Glorawenn and Andranel managed to get the both the blue and the green set of peacocks and peahens.

Today they were able to find the white peacok and peahen on the auction house, so they now have all the peacock/peahen pets that are currently available in the game.

Although having my warden ride around on a big black Friesian horse (set up as a heavy war steed), I have found that Caladwyn is far more effective with mounted combat when mounted on her new buckskin mustang (set up as a medium war steed).

I quite like the way the coloring works on the horse, especially when using the "bay" skin so the horse has the black legs.

My elven warden Caladywn, who is on the same account as Glorawenn, has also been questing through the Great River and I wanted to make an entry showing her adventuring armor.

Since getting her war-steed, Caladwyn is seen patrolling the areas on her big black Friesian.

We have a ways to go before the spring season, but that has not stopped Glorawenn from putting together a spring outfit.

This week's LOTRO sales include 50% off war steed colors. Since my characters were fairly close to level 75, I went ahead and leveled them up so they could see war steed items in the store and take advantage of this sale.

My First String Fellowship, consisting of Andranel on his red-chestnut steed, Glorawenn on her palomino, and Calicia on her red sorrel pony.

My Second String Fellowship, consisting of Credella on her palomino pony, my warden Caladwyn on her black Friesian, and my minstrel Minastion on his white steed.

Typically I don't like the look of the robes in LOTRO, but I've noticed that as my characters are approaching the higher level zones that the robes seem to fit better. In fact Calicia is currently wearing an outfit that uses one of these robes.

Calicia and her friends just reached level seventy, and that means it's time to upgrade their gear. That also means that it's time to upgrade their food, which is Calicia's job.

First she had to go to the farming fields and grow large quantities of black barley wheat and bilberries. Her pet cow Sue provided the fertilizer.

Glorawenn is ready to put on her Frostbluff winter attire, but today is not that day. ;)

For now she is still enjoying the colors of autumn, and of course her attire has to match her surroundings as well as her mount.

Calicia has been a bit lazy about finishing her slayer deeds before moving on to a new zone. As a result, she left a number of them incomplete (which also means she's sitting on a fair sized amount of LOTRO points). Since she still needs to complete some deeds in the Trollshaws, she's teamed up with Aungar who is currently questing in that area.

It's been amusing watching these two hobbits beating up trolls and giants. They may be tiny, but they are mighty.

(Admittedly Calicia is now a much higher level than what Trollshaws is intended for, but we won't tell Aungar that. We'll let him think he's developed a strong arm and hits the enemies supernaturally hard)

As if I needed any more LOTRO alts. To be fair, however, Aungar is not a newly made character. He was created around three years ago when my Account Number Two was VIP. All this time he has been sitting there in Little Delving as a storage alt. But earlier this year I felt compelled to have him do some adventuring.

As I've mentioned before, I like to multi-box, but throughout most of this year I've been fighting with eustachian tube dysfunction which often made me feel as though I wanted to go crawl under a rock and die. It seems to be finally clearing up (knock on wood), but a few months ago I felt so sickly that I could only play LOTRO for short amounts of time and didn't feel like going through setting up my clients for two or three characters. And that's how Aungar started getting some attention. While I was sick it was much easier to play a solo adventurer.

When Calicia was looting the secret chest inside the Haunted Burrow this past Saturday, she was founded the Aged Deed which awards the player with a painted skeleton steed. The amusing thing is that the following day she received the Aged Deed again after looting the secret chest. Unfortunately the Aged Deed is bound to the character that loots it, so she couldn't give it to any of my alts. All she could do was throw the extra deed away.

Here is Calicia's newest pony.

Truth be told, this steed is wasted on me/my characters. If I want them to ride a Halloween themed mount I prefer for them to ride their Steeds of Gloaming Autumn. And as far as using the Skeleton Steed as a regular mount, well...it only has one hundred points of moral, making it the same quality horse/pony as the starter steeds. Calicia has far better ponies which each have either two hundred or two hundred and fifty points of morale.

And so, she trotted around the Party Tree a few times on the skeleton pony, then put it away and whistled for her Gloaming Autumn pony.

Note: The Steed of Gloaming Autumn link is to my old blog at Live Journal, so don't be surprised at the page having a different appearance.

This year's Fall Festival is the Steed of Eldar Autumn which I wasn't sure if I was going to bother to get, but ended up bartering for it on my elf Warden and my Hobbit warden.

Here is a screen of Caladyn on her new mount. I think she and this horse look good together.

"Boooooo"

Calicia is having far too much fun exploring the Haunted Burrow in the Shire. Now that she has bartered for the war steed cosmetics, she spent some tokens to get the "Boo" emote, which she is using in the screenshot.

I'm using this screenshot as my current desktop wallpaper; Glorawenn (gold maiden) on her gold-pinto Steed of the Yield.

When she finally gets her warsteed I plan to make it look like this. The horse and rider look so good together.

Glorawenn added a Stag Totem to her front yard. Her white stag pet approves.

My husband and I had our LOTRO characters venture into the Lost Temple instance yesterday. While exploring, I noticed this impressive view and had to take a screenshot.

Here is this year's Summer Festival Steed. I like the fact that the head is mostly uncovered except for a normal looking halter/bridle.

Not only did Glorwenn barter for this steed, she also got all of the corresponding pieces for her future war-steed (except for the huge basket of sunflowers).

Edited to add: Here is Calicia with the pony version of the steed.

Typically my Hobbit hunter Credella adventures with my Second String fellowship (consisting of my elven Warden Caladwyn, my elven Minstrel Manastian, and of course Credella). But occasionally she crosses paths with her idol; my elven hunter Glorawenn.

They are wearing the same armor and each riding the Steed of the Yield.
