crown_of_antlers: (Gold Steed)

I just got back from my morning walk. Even if I didn't know that today is Halloween I would have thought that there was an eerie feeling in the air. Everything was so quiet and still. There was no breeze, so the trees - some of which are still covered in orange and yellow leaves with others being bare - were completely motionless. The only sign of life I saw was a lone crow who was perched on bare and dead looking tree branch.

If you are going trick or treating, or visiting a haunted house, or attending a Halloween party, have fun and be safe. And remember; when you get home with that big bag of candy, don't eat it the way a Hobbit would. Your stomach and the rest of your system won't appreciate it in the long run.

And one more thing; please keep your pets indoors. I don't want to rain on anyone's Halloween parade, but there are real monsters out there who are disguised as human beings and these monsters do horrifying things to animals on this day. Some of these acts are committed by cultists. Others are committed by lone, sick individuals who do these things because they enjoy the sense of empowerment they receive when they inflict fear and pain on someone who is weaker than they are.

So please, don't make it easy for these monsters to victimize your pets. Keep them indoors where they will be safe and out of the monsters' reach.

And now my LOTRO characters are off to the Party Tree in the Shire to enjoy some spooky Fall Festival activities.
