crown_of_antlers: A deer from LOTRO (LOTRO Deer)
I'm still puzzling over why placing a Stray Cat Gnome on the property caused stray dogs to show up. Throughout the day there was no sign of any stray animals, but after the sun went down two dogs came and made themselves comfortable in the shelter. The big white wolf looking dog has been there for three nights in a row. The red one showed up for the first time last night.

The next time I'm in the game I might put the gnome in the family inventory and see what difference that makes. Of course all of these gnomes can be "tuned" by clicking on them. They can be set to encourage or discourage strays. If more dogs keep showing up I could always get a stray dog gnome and tune it to discourage visits.

(I feel so silly about feeling guilty for even considering that. These are PIXEL DOGS damn it!)

A little while before the dogs showed up I noticed some movement out at the shelters and saw that the little calico had returned and was settling down to sleep in the barrel house. Neldor and Aeronwen were in the living room watching tv at the time (the cooking channel which raises their cooking skill).

Off topic: I use these mods that relate to cooking.

Learn Cooking By Watching TV <- Not only does this raise the skill, but your Sim can also learn recipes from the cooking channel.

Back on topic. On seeing the the calico had returned, Aeronwen went outside to invite the kitty to come inside the gate, which she did. Then, knowing that Neldor was in agreement, she went ahead and adopted the cat. I wish I had taken a screenshot of the message that came up. It said something along the lines that the calico was so very happy to have found a home and would no longer have to wander around getting food from the trash or sleeping out in the cold.

She has been named Holly, so now with their cats they have "the Holly and the Ivy". So far Holly still hasn't gone inside the house, preferring instead to sleep on the porch but I'm sure she'll go inside sooner or later.

Who knows what the early part of Holly's life was like? Now she can spend her elderly years living in the lap of luxury.

Now for the news. There wasn't much last night but much of what did come over the airwaves featured Gilvoth and Neloth.

Master Neloth, a member of the local gang of thugs, was seen recently whooping it up with fellow bangers after what is suspected to be the successful robbery of Yanna Swift Leaf. "Woo wee! It was a rush! Total adrenaline pumper! Got away clean too!"

(Don't get too cocky, Neloth.)

"I want what's rightfully yours," commented the Cat, whose identity was safely hidden by a mask. "Master Neloth is rich and succesful, and I see no reason why he shouldn't share $1,866 of that with little ol' me."

(I'm sensing a rivalry between the Thug and the Cat.)

"We have so much in common. I simply had no idea before the Robin," commented Master Aryon. He and Elegan Thornwood have been seen out on the town, sharing their stories.

(Don't worry, it's just friendly chatting. Aryon and Saje are fused together in their Story Progression settings.)

Eye witness testimony regarding the alleged extortion deal between hapless Aryc of Silvervale and the brazen Gilvoth Dagoth have been filtering in for the last couple of hours. More news later as this story unfolds.

(So Gilvoth is now working for the Kingpin. Until Odros, Gilvoth is mean-spirited enough to do this.)

Erandre Dence's nutcase antics appear to have drawn another bemused follower in the form of Morgana le Hex.

(Morgana has joined the Loon faction? You don't say.)

Gilvoth Dagoth has been seen passing off a hefty bundle of what we presume to be cash to the likes of one Vemyn Dagoth, alleged crime-lord extraordinaire. Out contacts in the banking industry report that at least $1,041 was deposited after the exchange.

(How do songbirds, field mice, squirrel and chipmunk reporters find out what's going on with the banks?)

A local sim, Voryn Dagoth, was left dazed and confused after suffering the wrong end of town thug Master Neloth's fist. When asked if he knew the reason for the seemingly unprovoked attack, Voryn said, "I have no idea. He came out of nowhere and whacked me right in the chin."

(As I asked when this occurred in the pre-caste version of the world, how is Neloth is even alive after doing this?)

Since this finishes up a game week in New Ascadia I feel like I should go into my Appaloosa Plains game for a little while, but I'm really curious to see what else is going to happen with the Thug, Cat, Robin, Loon, and Kingpin. Not to mention the Gigolo and the Casanova.
