Since Dragon Valley doesn't come with festival grounds, I added the one from the Appaloosa Plains world and the local Sims love it. New festivals come up with each season and the elves of Dragon Valley have been flocking there. Unfortunately I didn't see the grouches there, but I guess that was to be expected since they work nights and need to get rested in the late afternoons.
Thorinor and Sarasvati weren't there either since they had work hours at the theater that day. Nonetheless, Neldor and Aeronwen had a good time. Aeronwen seemed to especially love roller skating. This surprised me, not because of the way the character has developed over the years in my mind, but because she has the Loner trait which makes her often have a -10 hit to her mood meter when they go to places like this. But instead of getting the "Too Many People" moodlet like she usually does, she really got into the skating and ended up doing a lot of fancy and graceful moves.
Incidentally, the blue elf behind her, who really makes me think of the Maormer (Sea Elves) is running for Mayor and is considered a celebrity in Dragon Valley.

These fancy skating animations caused a minor plot bunny to be born; I started imagining Aeronwen and Acacia skating together, either roller or ice if they were at a winter festival, and having a ball. The sisters would feel like they were making up for some of the time that was lost by Helseth not allowing them to grow up together.
At one point she and Neldor took hands and began spinning around together.

When it was time for the festival grounds to close they returned to their house and sat down in front of their Dwemer Designed High-Def Wide Screen TV (LOL). Aeronwen had really been enjoying the evening and was about to...make her move....

but then....Neldor's phone rang. It was Thorinor. With a laugh, Neldor got up and began chatting with his brother. They talked...and they talked...and they talked some more. After a while I noticed that Aeronwen seemed annoyed as she continued to watch TV with their adorable cat Ivy sitting beside her.

Eventually Aeronwen decided she was tired, got up and went to bed. So because of Thorinor (who apparently couldn't wait until morning to call his brother), Neldor didn't get any...special after-festival treat. I'm not sure Neldor even realizes what he missed out on.

Date: 2023-12-11 12:23 am (UTC)From:I do too. During the spinning animations I kept picturing the sisters taking each other's hands and spinning around, laughing as their hair swirled around them. Perhaps an artificial ice rink can be set up somewhere around Vvardenfell during the New Life season.

LOL And Thorinor had already called Neldor twice that day. Aeronwen is wondering if Sarasvati is also getting annoyed.

Lol. Sarasvati: "I'll take care of this." *in the privacy of their home, she casually undresses to take a bath.*
Thorinor's eyes widen: "...Uh, Neldor....err...sorry, brother, I gotta go. Something's come up...No no, everything's fine. I'll just...talk to you later."
He abruptly ends the call.
Of course it's too late for Neldor since Aeronwen is already asleep (with Ivy snuggled up beside her).
