Another (sort of) custom world I've been testing is Wickery Glen which is labeled as a "Moonlight Falls" makeover. Although the mod creator didn't have many screenshots I decided to take a look to see if it works better than the original Moonlight Falls.
After installing it I placed Gloria's home and household in her usual lot and entered the world. Visually I see very little difference other than the lighthouse that was added near one of the beaches. I suppose it has the modern day looking streets, but since I'm using the cobblestone road replacement I see the world with the Dragon Valley style road.
The town and houses are still there, but everything is empty, and so far the game has not tried to bring any of the vanilla sims back into the world the way the original MF did when I attempted to empty it out for my Elder Scrolls crew.
Incidentally, the author made some new Wickery Glen Lots to give the town more of Victorian look. I particularly like the library lot.
So far the test save loads and saves quickly and there has been no lag, but at the same time there is only ONE household in there, so it's not a true test. From time to time I'll go in there and slowly add in some other households just to see how things go.
This doesn't mean I'll stop the game I just started with the Winchester Farming Community, for that is a charming little world and it works well, but IF Wickery Glen shows itself to be a more stable version of Moonlight Falls, perhaps Gloria will move there after she grows up. I can easily imagine her deciding that the island is too crowded for her taste.
I'll guess we'll see as I continue to hope into WG now and then and see if the flaws in Moonlight Falls have indeed been fixed.

There are links to the resizers in this thread but I haven't tried any of them yet: link.
A stable Moonlight Falls would be good.
I'd like to hope that this one will work, but I'm leery because of all the MF game's I've had to end before I wanted to due to the issues with that world. Plus to make the town look more old fashioned I have to take the time to bulldoze lots and add new ones. I don't mind the time that goes into that, but I still hesitate to do it if the world is going to once again have heavy lag and freezing issues.
All I can do is keep going with my tests and see what happens. I'm in the Elder Scrolls world today (Neloth was arrested again), but the next time I'm testing Wickery Glen I'll add some random Moonlight Falls Townies and see how the world deals with some more people.

Saje:"You can't get away with stuff here like you can back in Vvardenfell. I might just make sure you remain here."
