Crown of Antlers

Both my Moonlight Falls (Gloria) and my Dragon Valley (Aeronwen) games just hit the autumn season and I had a blast decorating both homes with items from the Halloween packs, but since we are so close to the Halloween season in real life I decided to slow down my games a bit and enjoy the game's spooky season during real life's spooky season.

In the meantime I decided to go back into Appaloosa Plains, which admittedly seems to be one of the game's most stable worlds besides Dragon Valley. I was especially inclined to play through this story again after finding some trailer/caravan mods. For this game the story setup is similar to my previous Appaloosa Plains game with some additional characters and details.

After looking through the available trailer type houses I decided to go with the Elm 26` Trailer. Not only did it not use a bunch of custom content that I may or may not be able to track down, it was the easiest one for my Sim to live in along with her pets. Plus I just like the look of it.

My in-game screenshots aren't going to look quite the same as the ones on Mod the Sims because as usual I did some customizing.( Read more... )

After this evening's little dust-up, Gilvoth will probably storm into the town hall and demand that the new park torn down because "there's werewolves in dem dare woods".

Fearing for his safety, Gilvoth Dagoth did the only sensible thing and threw 623 septims in the face of his assailant Usanda Moon Leaf. The Feral was noted to have sniffed the cash for a second, picked it up in her mouth, and finally swatted Gilvoth for good measure before vanishing into the woods.

It really seems like all the Ravenwatch household wants is to live in peace. And survive just by consuming plasma fruit plus plasma from willing donors. Unfortunately some of the other town residents insist on making trouble for them.

Err...I mean memory crystals. Small, thin, rectangular memory crystals that they use to capture images of the people they are spying on. Uh, I mean getting news stories about.

It was actually a slow news day, which is good since I needed to figure out what little tricks I needed to pull with the Master Controller to get characters from different households to use poses together.

A group of my favorite mods for Oblivion were the posing mods because they allowed me to create screenshot/story illustrations for my character blogs. Although I'm not writing anything about the MorrowSims, I decided to try out some of the Sims 3 Pose mods, especially after I found some horse-related ones:

Love and Horses
Family Horse Riding
Both of which require the base mod: Pose Player

I'll be looking at the other pose mods, but I decided to start with the horse ones. Granted the poses in the Family Horse Riding mod isn't near as great as it would be if Sims 3 children could actually ride, but it's the next best thing.

Mini-rant: Why can't the Sims 3 children ride horses? Many people who ride in real life started when they were children, and very young children at that! If a modder can figure out a way to make children look like they are on a horse, then surely the game developers could have allowed them to truly ride.

I installed these a few weeks ago and now I can't imagine my Sims 3 worlds without them. They really add so much to the atmosphere. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get good screenshots since a still image doesn't really convey what the animation does. All I can say is that when some leaves gently blow across the lot you can almost feel the late summer/early autumn chill in the air. And the fireflies and butterflies are absolutely gorgeous!

Electrical Storm Mod. Lightening Enhanced <- I went with the version that spawns lightening of all colors.

In Gloria's game autumn has come to Moonlight Falls and swirling leaves that move through the lot when the wind blows seem like they should have been there all along. And in Aeronwen's game some swirls of dust blew through the lot as she and Neldor were working in their garden which really added to immersion.

This entry contains some completely unrelated subjects in my Elder Scrolls themed Sims game. LOL First I made some more changes to the Rose Garden Bakery. Since none of the townies were using the outdoor tables I decided to get ride of them and replaced them with the Old Miller Tea Time Set which is a beautiful round table set up with a gorgeous tea set. Sims can interact with it by sitting together and of course drinking tea.

Some large umbrella's decorated with rose themed patterns were placed next to each table. I also added an elegant fence and a gate around the tables because Merriweather Golden's horrible white toy poodle came by and tried to chew up the furniture. So now the gate is locked to pets.( Read more... )

Thank Azura and Y'ffre for the NRaas Cupcake mod. It's now set up to automatically restock the shelves at the bakery every morning at 5AM, which is good because Aeronwen simply couldn't bake things fast enough to keep the shelves full. Especially not with certain townies coming in and buying the cakes, pies, cookies, and cobbler the moment they were put on the shelves.

Although the tax bill for Rosewood is already rather high, I did a little more decorating, adding more ivy to both the interior as well as exterior walls and placed these lovely rose decorations around some of the windows. Then I made some changes to the bed textures and the end result is a Master Bedroom that looks a lot more like the bedrooms in the Rose Cottage and the Millstone Cottage.
